The Best Microalgae Awards
Highlighting and rewarding microalgae innovation
The Best Microalgae Awards are independent, non-profit awards now organized under the aegis of the European Algae Biomass Association. Our scope remains global and the award includes judges from industry organizations throughout the world such the Algae Foundation and NAXA.
HIGHLIGHTING INNOVATION
Microalgae hold boundless opportunities that remain concealed from the public eye. Our aim is to act as a catalyst to highlight and reward innovators in the field.
REWARDING INNOVATION
Our award categories are: the ‘Game Changer’, the ‘Upgrader’, the ‘Wild Card’, ‘Inclusive Innovation’, ‘Sustainability/CSR Initiative’ and two social spirulina awards (for India and West Africa).

Online Award Ceremony at AlgaEurope
The 2020 edition will be presented during AlgaEurope 2020, on 3–4 December 2020 as the original in-person event had to be postponed. Finalists and runners-up will have the opportunity to present their pitches to upwards of a 1,000 microalgae professionals as well as a dedicated Flash event with EABA focused on presenting the panorama of microalgae innovation.
